UNLIKE three major kidnappings in 2025 that were solved in days, the victim in a recent kidnapping, Claribel Tardieu, remains missing more than three weeks later.
Claribel and her husband Derrick “Stones” Tardieu were kidnapped from their home at Monos Island on December 6 and she has remained unaccounted for despite Derrick’s release on December 17. Prior to Tardieu’s release the kidnappers had requested a ransom of US $2.5 million and then subsequently reduced it to TT $100,000.
A senior officer said yesterday that they had not given up on Tardieu, 47, and any leads they receive would be acted on.
