A full-scale inĀterĀnal auĀdit has been orĀdered inĀto the opĀerĀaĀtions and fiĀnances of the NaĀtionĀal CarĀniĀval ComĀmisĀsion (NCC), afĀter newĀly apĀpointĀed CulĀture and ComĀmuĀniĀty DeĀvelĀopĀment MinĀisĀter Michelle BenĀjamin raised alarm over a $178 milĀlion debt still owed to serĀvice providers from CarĀniĀval 2025.
This comes just one week afĀter the swearĀing-in of a new Board of ComĀmisĀsionĀers, and amid revĀeĀlaĀtions that alĀthough the NCC seĀcured and spent a $200 milĀlion loan earĀliĀer this year, the maĀjorĀiĀty of stakeĀholdĀers have yet to be paid.
