Dri­vers head­ing south on the Sir Solomon Ho­choy High­way will see wel­come traf­fic shift from Mon­day, as the Min­istry of Works and Trans­port opens ad­di­tion­al lanes be­tween the Brent­wood Ac­cel­er­a­tion Lane and the Chase Vil­lage Over­pass.

Ac­cord­ing to the min­istry, a 100-me­tre tran­si­tion zone will be marked with traf­fic con­trol de­vices to guide ve­hi­cles from two lanes in­to three near the Brent­wood Ac­cel­er­a­tion Lane.

These three lanes will con­tin­ue for about two kilo­me­tres be­fore reach­ing the Chase Vil­lage Over­pass. Ap­prox­i­mate­ly 400 me­tres north of the over­pass, the left lane will tran­si­tion in­to a de­cel­er­a­tion lane lead­ing on­to the over­pass.
