Homicide officers, along with personnel from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU), were called to Tyrico Beach at Maracas Bay yesterday morning, after a body was discovered in some bushes.
The gruesome find occurred shortly after 8 am, when a female beachgoer had gone to the bushes near the access road to relieve herself. She reportedly ran out screaming after seeing the corpse of an East Indian man lying face down.
Police arrived to find the unidentified victim bound and gagged. Despite the ongoing investigation, beach visitors continued to arrive, setting up tents and chairs seemingly unaware of the scene unfolding nearby.
