THE Police Service Commission (PolSC) committed no wrong when it decided to immediately suspend Police Commissioner Erla Harewood-Christopher following her arrest in January on allegations of misbehaviour in public office, the High Court has ruled.
In fact, the suspension may have very well been in Harewood-Christopher’s best interest since it would have removed any speculation or suspicion that she may have used her office to influence the outcome of the investigation, Justice Christopher Sieuchand said yesterday.
The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Roger Gaspard on Saturday cleared Harewood-Christopher of any wrongdoing in the importation of high-powered rifles for the Strategic Services Agency (SSA).
