THOUGH the US has not officially confirmed the name of the vessel it seized on Wednesday morning off the coast of Venezuela, international media has reported that it was identified by US officials as the Skipper oil tanker.
This was in addition to it falsely flying a Guyanese flag while allegedly transporting sanctioned oil.
Hours after the US announced its seizure of the large oil tanker, vesselfinder.com placed it just between Trinidad and Tobago and Grenada, before moving north past St Vincent and the Grenadines, according to information from the Automatic Identification System (AIS).
