A 68-year-old man successfully overpowered an armed intruder who broke into his Hillsdale Crescent home on Sunday afternoon.
Police said the 'victim' contacted authorities around 1 p.m. after an attempted robbery at his residence. According to him, the suspect, later identified as a 22-year-old , entered his home through the front door around 12:45 p.m., armed with what appeared to be a rifle.
The suspect, described as slim-built, dark-skinned, approximately 5’4”, wearing a blue jersey, black pants, and a black mask, demanded that the home owner lie on the ground. He refused, and there was a struggle. During the altercation, the front glass door was damaged.
