Attorney General John Jeremie has called for an enquiry into former prime minister Stuart Young’s overseas travel, questioning records he said could account for about 78 trips in and out of Trinidad and Tobago.
Young has rejected the scrutiny, insisting that his overseas journeys during his ten years in government were undertaken on official business and properly documented.
Speaking during the third day of the budget debate in the House of Representatives, Jeremie said he had reviewed documents relating to Young’s overseas travel and identified what he described as apparent discrepancies in records of movements into and out of the country.
