Central, South brace for water disruptions from Monday

Cus­tomers in parts of Cen­tral and South Trinidad can ex­pect dis­rup­tions to their wa­ter sup­ply when the Point Lisas De­sali­na­tion Plant un­der­goes its an­nu­al planned main­te­nance shut­down.

The Wa­ter and Sew­er­age Au­thor­i­ty (WASA) said the shut­down will take place from noon on Mon­day, Sep­tem­ber 28, to noon on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 4.

The plant, op­er­at­ed by the De­sali­na­tion Com­pa­ny of Trinidad and To­ba­go (DE­SAL­COTT), sup­plies WASA with 40 mil­lion gal­lons of wa­ter dai­ly. The sup­ply sup­ports the Point Lisas In­dus­tri­al Es­tate and aug­ments wa­ter sup­ply to parts of Cen­tral and South-West Trinidad.
