Point Lisas Desalination Plant To Shut Down For Annual Maintenance

Thousands of customers across Central and South Trinidad are expected to face water disruptions next week as the Point Lisas Desalination Plant’s annual planned maintenance shutdown gets underway.

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) said the plant, operated by the Desalination Company of Trinidad and Tobago (DESALCOTT), will be taken offline from noon next Monday, September 28th, to noon on Sunday, October 4th.

The facility supplies 40 million gallons of water daily, supporting the Point Lisas Industrial Estate and augmenting water supplies to parts of Central and South-West Trinidad.
