After spending hours in captivity, a 43-year-old Santa Cruz man was rescued by police after being taken from his home at gunpoint yesterday morning.
The kidnappers reportedly contacted relatives and demanded a ransom of $200,000 for his safe release.
A report was made and officers of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU), together with the Home Invasion Team (HIT) and others, were mobilised and initiated an enquiry into the incident.
