A 41-year-old Laventille man is in police custody after allegedly fatally stabbing his relative, also 41, during a dispute on Thursday night.
The victim, Andrew Soleyn of Point Pleasant Park, Laventille, was pronounced dead at 10:02 p.m. at the Port of Spain General Hospital. His cause of death was listed as multiple stab wounds to the neck, chest, and right flank.
Police said the incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. outside the family’s residence, where Soleyn and the suspect, who lives at the same address, were heard arguing. Moments later, a neighbour alerted other relatives that Soleyn had been stabbed.
