PRESIDENT of the Greater San Fernando Area Chamber of Commerce, Kiran Singh, has called for increased police patrols in the city of San Fernando following a robbery at the Ishmael M Khan bookstore yesterday—the second incident in as many weeks.
The incident yesterday came just days after a similar robbery at a cellphone store, where men armed with a gun carried out a hold-up.
Singh told the Express yesterday: “We heard the unfortunate news of a robbery at Ishmael Khan on Coffee Street today (Tuesday). The bandits were in possession of a firearm, which is most likely illegal.
