The collapsed segment of the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway Extension to Point Fortin at Mosquito Creek is being rebuilt and is expected to be completed by March 2026.
The National Infrastructure Development Company (Nidco), in a statement to the Express yesterday, confirmed that remedial works are progressing rapidly and key stabilisation measures have already been completed.
Nidco said the installation of a continuous flight auger (CFA) piled wall—driven 20 metres deep into the subsoil—has been successfully executed. This structural measure was designed to stabilise the embankment and prevent any further slippage.
