The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure has commenced slope stabilisation and other critical works along the Elmina Clarke-Allen Highway following a site visit by the Honourable Jearlean John on Wednesday, 28 May 2025.
The visit focused on a 40-metre slope slippage along the westbound lane of the Connector Road. Engineers traced the issue to water saturation on unfinished slopes. In response, the National Infrastructure Development Company Limited (NIDCO) has begun remedial work and will soon undertake final slope grading and grassing to prevent future slippage and ensure the long-term stability of the roadway.
Despite the slippage, the Ministry confirmed that the road remains safe for use and that traffic flow is unaffected.
