A Bel­mont man was shot in the head whilst host­ing a birth­day par­ty at his home on Sun­day.

The 25-year-old of Up­per St Barbs Road in Bel­mont was stand­ing in the back­yard where the gath­er­ing for a close rel­a­tive, was un­der­way around 3 pm on No­vem­ber 16, when gun­shots rang out.

As the crowd scam­pered to safe­ty, the vic­tim re­alised he had been shot on the top of his head.
