A 23-year-old Arima man was gunned down at his own birthday party late Tuesday night in what police are treating as a targeted killing.

The victim has been identified as Mikel Campbell, of LP 51 Maturita Trace, Arima. He had just turned 23.

According to police reports, the shooting occurred around 11:35 p.m. on July 29th, while Campbell was celebrating with friends and family at his home. A lone man entered the yard and called Campbell by name. When Campbell approached him, several gunshots were heard.
