(Kaieteur News) – The geological team behind the Oko-Ghanie gold discovery that was sold this year for US$2.2 billion, has now joined an Australian firm that recently acquired majority interest in two major gold projects in Guyana, to advance exploration in Guyana’s Cuyuni Mining District.
Liberty Metals this week announced that the technical consulting team is headed by Boaz Wade, former Vice President of Exploration of Canadian firm G2 Goldfields Inc. Wade led the exploration programme that took the Oko-Ghanie discovery from a greenfields target to a resource of over 3 million ounces of gold in about five years.
The team will work alongside Liberty’s recently appointed Exploration Manager, Finlay Goodwin, as the company seeks to identify and develop targets for its first drilling programme.
