Dr. Sihlé Letren, a medical doctor and the reigning Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago 2025, has stepped down from her title, just months ahead of the international Miss Universe competition scheduled to take place in Thailand.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Letren expressed “both gratitude and regret” over her decision, citing “ongoing challenges” that have made it difficult for her to continue “in good faith” on the journey.
“Being crowned as a representative of my beloved country has been one of the greatest honours of my life and fulfilling a long-held dream to stand on a global stage,” she wrote. “However, due to ongoing challenges, I am unable to continue in good faith on this journey at this time.”
