The government has increased fees for births and deaths registration, with changes taking effect on January 1, 2026. The adjustments were made under Legal Notice 480, published in the official Gazette on Christmas Day.
Under the amended schedules of the Births and Deaths Registration Act, fees for registering a child have doubled in some cases. Registration for a child over three months but under 12 months is now $40, while registration of a child over 12 months with written authority from the Registrar General will cost between $100 and $150.
