ST JAMES, Jamaica—MBJ Airports Limited, operator of Sangster International Airport, says a construction worker was fatally injured during contracted steel erection work on Friday.
According to MBJ in a press release, the incident occurred on the site of China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (Jamaica) Limited (CCECC) on the apron near Gate 15.
“We are heartbroken by this loss and extend our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones. Our thoughts are also with his co-workers and members of our airport community who were with him at the time,” MBJ said.
