Acting Commissioner of Police Junior Benjamin has assured the public that the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) will be increasing its security operations across all divisions, with special focus on the nation’s airports on both islands.
He gave the assurance following the fatal shooting of 34-year-old Akim Quash at Piarco International Airport yesterday morning.
Benjamin described the shooting as “a situation of desperation”, pointing out that it involved “a person who [was] known to police”. He said the individual (suspect) involved seized the opportunity to confront someone they were targeting.
