(Kaieteur News) – Leader of the Opposition Azruddin Mohamed on Monday, accused the PPP/C led government of political corruption and judicial interference after discovering that Daniel Seeram remains unaccounted for in the national prison system despite a high-court-upheld remand order.
Seeram, Guyana’s National Border Patrol Director, was last Friday found guilty of assault causing actual bodily harm against his ex-wife. Following the verdict, Magistrate Abigail Gibbs ordered Seeram remanded to prison, a decision subsequently upheld on appeal by High Court Justice Joy Persaud-Singh.
However, during a direct investigation across state correctional facilities, Mohamed confirmed that Seeram was never processed into custody.
