A violent robbery unfolded in Lower Santa Cruz yesterday afternoon, leaving four residents bound and robbed of cash, jewellery, and electronic devices.
Around 12:55 p.m., three suspects entered the home of two sisters, aged 72 and and 77-year-old Farrah, who were at home with their 102-year-old mother, a dementia patient, and two caregivers. The intruders, armed and wearing gloves, tied the hands of all four occupants using black plastic tie straps and confined them to different parts of the house.
The suspects ransacked the bedrooms, stealing $2,500 and assorted gold-coloured jewellery from the family. One caregiver was robbed of an iPhone 12 valued at $2,400 TT, while the other caregiver lost an iPhone 12 Mini. The trio then fled the residence.
