The Trinidad and Tobago Postal Corporation (TTPost) says it has temporarily suspended the acceptance of postal items containing merchandise and goods bound for the United States.
In a news release issued yesterday, TTPost stated that “effective immediately, the acceptance of postal items containing merchandise/goods destined for the United States of America (USA) has been temporarily suspended.”
It stated: “Pursuant to the US Executive Order (EO) of 30 July 2025 entitled ‘Suspending Duty-Free De Minimis Treatment for All Countries’, with effect from August 29, 2025, the duty-free de minimis exemption for goods valued at (US)$800 or less will be eliminated.”
