A two-storey house was completely destroyed by fire in Bamboo Settlement #1 on Sunday morning.
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service, Fire Control received a report of a house fire at No. 1 Bamboo Settlement shortly before midday. Red Watch officers from the San Juan Fire Station were dispatched, along with a crew of fire officers.
On arrival, firefighters found that the wooden and concrete structure had already collapsed. Despite this, the crew was able to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby homes in the densely populated area.
