AN eight-year-old is suspected to have accidentally started a fire that destroyed a family home in Tobago on Wednesday.

Police said the blaze occurred at a house along Windward Road, Bad Rock, in Belle Garden.

The home is owned by a 68-year-old worker at the Tobago House of Assembly. Around 4.45 p.m., the home owner was at Bay Road, Belle Garden, when she received information that her house was on fire. She returned to the location and observed the structure engulfed in flames.
