A kidnapped retiree was found bound and shot dead in a forested area in Couva on Sunday night.

The victim has been identified as 63-year-old Vishnu Lalla of Dairy Lane, Windsor Park, California, Couva.

Police said Lalla was abducted outside his home around 6.50 p.m. on Saturday. Shortly after, his Toyota Hilux was seen driving off at high speed. At 7.20 p.m. that night, a call was made from his phone demanding $100,000 by midnight for his safe return.
