The Education Ministry said the review of the School Supplies and Book Grant initiative for students of government and government-assisted primary and secondary schools is part of a modernisation effort by the ministry.
It said the review does not mean support for the initiative will be discontinued.
In a release on October 23, the ministry said the review is taking place as part of its implementation of the Education Strategic Plan 2025-2030, which is the national framework guiding education reform over the next five years.
