"JAIL is jail. One secure facility is just as effective as another," stated Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro, on Saturday in an immediate response to a late-night legal challenge that sought to reverse the relocation of alleged gang leader Rajaee Ali.

The Commissioner's remarks came via a media release after the High Court dismissed an urgent habeas corpus application on Friday night, the first night under a newly declared State of Emergency.

The challenge, filed by legal representatives on behalf of Ali sought to have him return to the Maximum Security Prison (MSP) in Arouca.
