(Kaieteur News) – The 21st Chinese Medical Team, in collaboration with the Shandong Hi-Speed Dejian Group, has donated nearly $1 million worth of medical equipment to the Victoria Seventh-day Adventist Church to support the establishment of a community health clinic at its Belfield, East Coast Demerara facility.

The equipment was formally handed over on Saturday during a ceremony at the church, where leaders described the donation as a major boost to the church’s efforts to bring basic healthcare services to residents of Belfield and surrounding communities.

Elder Nigel Williams, speaking at the ceremony, said the initiative represents the church’s commitment to putting its faith into practical action. “This supports our work as a church to not only preach the gospel from the pulpit, but also provide a more practical demonstration of our faith in action,” Williams said. He thanked the Chinese Medical Team and the Shandong group for what he described as a timely contribution, assuring that the equipment would be used to provide relief to residents in the surrounding communities.
