(Kaieteur News) – China has added another layer to its growing health cooperation with Guyana with the commissioning of a new Health Promotion Centre at the Ministry of Health, offering the public free access to health-testing facilities and professional fitness equipment.
The facility was officially commissioned on August 11 by Chinese Ambassador to Guyana Yang Yang and Minister of Health Dr. Frank Anthony, with representatives of the 21st Chinese Medical Team, AGM Inc. and Shandong Hi-Speed Dejian also in attendance. The Chinese-funded centre includes a self-service health corner equipped with smart testing devices and rapid test kits for common infectious diseases, alongside a professional fitness area outfitted with exercise equipment.
And unlike many public facilities, the centre is being offered free of charge to the public.
