A bandit, posing as a passenger, shot a 48-year-old taxi driver in the shoulder during a robbery at Chase Village, Chaguanas, on Friday night.

Police said Shirvington Wiseman of Freeport was driving his grey Nissan Tiida, valued at $30,000, around 9 pm on Friday when the incident occurred.

Wiseman had picked up the passenger at Busy Corner, Chaguanas, and was heading east along Lime Head Road when the passenger pointed what appeared to be a firearm at Wiseman.
