Two women and a miner were taken into custody following the discovery of a quantity of cannabis during police operations at several locations within Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) on Wednesday.
Police stated that during a search at a residence in the Tuschen North Squatting Area, ranks discovered two transparent Ziplock bags containing 2.8 grams of cannabis, leading to the arrests of a 36-year-old housewife and a 32-year-old miner.
In addition, a similar operation at Parika Koker, East Bank Essequibo (EBE), led to the arrest of a 38-year-old woman from Campbellville, Georgetown, following the discovery of 728.2 grams of ganja inside a haversack she was carrying.
