A 37-year-old labourer from Parika Sea Dam, East Bank Essequibo (EBE), was arrested on Saturday after a quantity of ganja was found hidden in a bucket at his home. Police stated that ranks conducted an exercise along the Sea Dam, during which the cannabis was found in several Ziplock bags that were concealed in a plastic bucket.
The suspect, along with the cannabis, was escorted to the Parika Police Station, where the ganja was weighed and amounted to five pounds.
The labourer remains in custody pending further investigations and charges.
