OFFICERS abusing extended sick leave while continuing to collect monthly salaries will come under increased scrutiny as part of efforts to improve accountability and morale within the Municipal Police Service, Snr Supt Wayne Mohammed has said.

Mohammed, who’s attached to the Southern Municipal Police Division, made the statement while speaking to reporters following an interfaith prayer service and ceremonial rededication at the San Fernando Municipal Police Station.

Emphasising the need for commitment and professionalism among members of the service, he said officers have the support of the Trinidad and Tobago Municipal Police Service (TTMPS) and the San Fernando City Corporation.
