A MAN wanted for questioning after the death of a four-year-old girl in Sea Lots has been charged with her manslaughter.
The man has been charged with the manslaughter of Jemima Bonaparte. Police said that on October 9, Bonaparte was rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope, by a relative who claimed that he found her unresponsive. Around 6.07 p.m. that day, she was declared dead.
On October 17, a post-mortem was carried out at the Forensic Science Centre, Federation Park which concluded that the child had died from traumatic cerebral injury caused by blunt force trauma. Officers of the Region One Homicide Bureau launched an enquiry where a man was questioned, and after consultation with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, he was charged.
