Mother, teen daughter shot, burnt in home invasion

Four masked gunmen shot and killed a mother and her 17-year-old daughter before dousing their bodies with methylated spirits and setting them on fire during a home invasion in Malick, Barataria, on Friday afternoon, according to a police report.

The woman's 20-year-old son was also beaten during the attack and sustained minor injuries to his face, hands and upper body.

Dead are Rosanna Ramlal, 47, a doubles vendor, and her daughter, Alina Ramlal, 17, a student. Their burnt remains were found on a bed in a bedroom at their home along 7th Avenue, Malick.
