(Kaieteur News) – Police in Regional Division #3 are investigating an alleged attempted robbery under arms committed on a 16-year-old trainee mechanic at about 11:30hrs on Tuesday at La Grange Old Road, West Bank Demerara.
Preliminary investigations revealed that during August 2026, the teen advertised his motorcycle for sale on Facebook Marketplace. A 20-year-old man subsequently contacted him, inspected the motorcycle and indicated that he would return on September 1 to complete the purchase.
On the day in question, the suspect allegedly pointed what appeared to be a handgun at the teen and demanded his motorcycle keys and cellular phone. The teen managed to resist and escape before alerting nearby residents.
