A new Preventive Detention Order has been issued against Elvis Ryan Lopez, also known as “Piggy” and “Pig,” who authorities have linked to an informal gang operating in Moruga, St Mary’s and surrounding areas.
The order alleges that Lopez is an enforcer for the group, which intelligence has linked to firearms and ammunition trafficking, illegal narcotics, armed home invasions and shootings. Lopez is also linked with boat operators and others involved in importing and distributing firearms, ammunition and illegal narcotics.
In another PDO, Shurland Irvine, also known as “Buju,” of Black Rock and Mt Pleasant, Tobago, was ordered detained at the Eastern Correctional Rehabilitation Centre in Santa Rosa, Arima.
