A Form Three student of the Preysal Secondary School has been suspended for confining one of two police officers, maintaining security at the school, in a classroom for over 30 minutes.
In a total departure of the objective of having police in schools, the officer on September 12, was deemed "high risk" and was "locked up" in a classroom.
President of the Preysal Secondary School PTA Kris Balkaransingh confirmed the incident and said, “we strongly condemn the actions of the students and support any reasonable measure the administration takes against the students involved.”
