The National Infrastructure Development Company Limited (NIDCO) has advised that the MV Golden Carrier will replace the MV Blue Wave Harmony on the inter-island cargo sea bridge, with loaded sea trials scheduled to begin this Sunday, July 26th.
In a statement on Friday, it explained that the substitution will take place under the existing Charter Party Agreement (CPA) for the MV Blue Wave Harmony, dated December 18th, 2025, which provides for a one-year charter period, structured as an initial six-month term with an option to extend for an additional six months.
“At the six-month mark, the Disponent Owner took the decision to substitute the MV Blue Wave Harmony with the MV Golden Carrier to facilitate scheduled maintenance and upgrades on the MV Blue Wave Harmony. This substitution will be effected under the existing terms of the CPA. The charter hire will remain unchanged, and the introduction of the new vessel will not result in any increase or additional cost.”
