The National Infrastructure Development Company Ltd (NIDCO) has announced that the MV Golden Carrier will replace the MV Blue Wave Harmony on the inter-island cargo sea bridge while the latter undergoes scheduled maintenance and upgrades.
In a statement on Friday, NIDCO said the substitution forms part of the existing Charter Party Agreement (CPA) signed on December 18, 2025, and will not result in any additional cost to the State.
The MV Blue Wave Harmony was chartered for an initial six-month period, with an option to extend the agreement for a further six months. At the end of the initial term, the vessel's owner opted to temporarily substitute it with the MV Golden Carrier to facilitate maintenance work.
