A 26-year-old machine operator was hospitalised after he was beaten and struck in the face with a metal bat during a daylight attack outside his workplace on Monday.

It happened along Bhagoutie Trace near Sunshine Snacks, where he is employed.

According to police reports, around 3.30 p.m., the victim was on his lunch break when he attempted to defuse a dispute involving two male co-workers over a woman.
