The Bar Owners Association of Trinidad and Tobago (BOATT) is calling for urgent consultation with the Government over proposed changes to the legal framework governing alcohol, warĀning that the requirements and fines outlined in Parliament could create problems for law-abiding businesĀses.
BOATT president Sateesh Moonesar said that while the Governmentās intention behind the reasoning for an age limit was understandable, he strongly objected to several of the requirements and penalties discussed during the parĀliamentary debate.
āThe intention behind the Prime Ministerās reasoning for raiĀsing the age limit is good and something that we do not object to,ā he said in a telephone interview with the Express yesterday on the The Miscellaneous Provisions (Alcohol, Cannabis, Dangerous Drugs, Gambling and Tobacco) Bill.
