(Kaieteur News) Police ranks conducting a drug eradication exercise in Bartica Village, Upper Berbice River, on Thursday discovered a 12-gauge shotgun and six matching cartridges at a makeshift camp.
The exercise was conducted between 6:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and was led by a gazetted officer.
According to police, ranks located a field measuring approximately two acres, where close to 5,000 suspected cannabis plants were found. The plants, which ranged between three and six inches in height, were uprooted and destroyed.
