WORDS of praise and support flowed yesterday for former Mayaro MP Rushton Paray, who has been booted out by the United National Congress (UNC) as a prospective candidate for the April 28 general election.
The announcement was made on Saturday night at the UNC's campaign meeting in Sangre Grange. Paray has been replaced by Nicholas Morris, despite apparent support for the incumbent. Morris was once the party's Youth Arm chairman and currently listed as an 'international relations officer' on its website.
Paray was one of five UNC MPs labelled as 'dissidents' following their open criticism of the leadership of UNC leader Kamla Persad- Bissessar.
