More than three months af­ter sev­en-year-old An­gel­i­ca Jo­gie died in a jet ski ac­ci­dent in To­ba­go, the Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions (DPP) has ad­vised that the op­er­a­tor be charged with manslaugh­ter.

Se­nior Su­per­in­ten­dent Rod­hill Kirk con­firmed on Mon­day that the 32-year-old Canaan res­i­dent was re­ar­rest­ed af­ter fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to the in­ci­dent. The sus­pect was ini­tial­ly de­tained hours af­ter the Ju­ly tragedy but was lat­er re­leased pend­ing ad­di­tion­al in­quiries.

Po­lice said the charge was ex­pect­ed to be laid on Mon­day, with the ac­cused ex­pect­ed to ap­pear be­fore the court on Tues­day.
