Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the theft of a quan­ti­ty of cash from an el­der­ly woman ear­ly morn­ing on Sat­ur­day morn­ing in Cunu­pia.

Po­lice said the 80-year-old woman locked the doors and win­dows of her Wel­come Road, home and went to bed on Fri­day night.

Hours lat­er she was awok­en to a com­mo­tion in­side her house and on check­ing saw a stranger who an­nounced a rob­bery.
