HEALTH Minister Dr Lackram Bodoe has blamed the former People’s National Movement (PNM) administration for approximately $346 million in expired pharmaceuticals and other wasted goods, citing audit findings and unused or obsolete medical equipment at public health facilities.
Bodoe made the claims during the 2026/2027 budget debate in Parliament on Saturday night, saying an audit report available at the Ministry of Health since 2022 had identified serious shortcomings in the pharmaceutical supply chain.
“I’m going to tell you why there’s no drugs in the hospital, because of the money you wasted and the expired drugs,” he said.
